Birding Festival Appearances

Me – Altadena, CA

As part of the Zeiss Birding Team I regularly get to appear at birding festivals across the country. I’m mainly there to talk to people about optics, but part of the fun of festivals is that I regularly get to lead walks and give presentations on everything from raptor identification to how to pick your first pair of binoculars. Of course the best part of festivals for me personally is getting to catch up with friends from across the country, so if you’re in town drop by the Zeiss Sports Optics booth and say hello.

2019 Festivals

Laredo Birding Festival (Laredo, TX)  — February 6-9, 2019 (website here).

San Diego Birding Festival (San Diego, CA) — February 27-March 3 (website here). I’ll be Birding the Border Friday and leading Hawk Alley on Saturday. I even had a few photos in their brochure this year (online here).

High Island Migration Weekends (High Island, TX) — April 19-22. I’ll be helping retailers Land, Sea and Sky (website here) show off some of the latest ZEISS product including the newish Harpia scope.

Biggest Week In American Birding (Northwest Ohio) — May 3-12. All the warblers, all of them! Looking forward to treading the boards out at Magee Marsh again this spring. Festival Website (here).

Southeast Arizona Birding Festival (Tucson, AZ) — August 7-11 (website here).  I’ll be talking about my international hawkwatching adventures and co-leading a couple of tours.

Sonoma Optics Fest (Sonoma, CA) — September 14 (website here). A one day event with optics retailers, local artists and non-profit organizations represented at this trade show.

More to be confirmed soon…
